Guests enjoyed a beautiful evening of music and art in the midst of the galleries as the Hilbert Museum welcomed Pacific Symphony’s String Quartet! The south galleries surrounded the audience with outstanding acoustics as the quartet performed a program based on artworks on view in the museum, including Jorgen Klubien’s lively drawings for Pixar movies and a group of 1940s paintings showing the origins of West Coast Jazz. The fun, jazzy offerings and familiar tunes are from such beloved movies as “Toy Story,” “Coco” and “Up.” The quartet featured violinists Jeanne Skrocki (PSO assistant concertmaster) and Alice Wrate, violist Carolyn Riley and cellist Rudolph Stein.
